10 Step Expert Guide to Personal Branding

in Blogging

Since I’ve been back, I have made a lot of thinking and had really no idea where to start, which is really stupid if you think about it… I mean, just look how much info there is around the internet, right? WRONG!

The reason it was so hard for me to start, was the same reason as for any new aspiring Internet Marketer that joins this global community-OVERWHELMENT!!

There is simply way too much information and guides and techniques around!! FOR FREE! I mean, just google some of the keywords like: “free marketing training”, “marketing blog”, “how to succeed in internet marketing”, etc..

Personal Branding

This is why I think it is important to start your way with a good teacher-mentor, a person who really knows what he is doing has a plan for you, or at least has enough understanding about this whole thing to know, that you can’t just take all the studies, techniques and ebooks, and just throw them at the “new guy”! It is WRONG! WRONG I TELL YA!

The thing I remember about my first couple of weeks of my internet marketing career is Personal Branding. My good friend and Mentor Jodie Thompson was going off like a maniac every single time I spoke to her via Skype about this thing called Personal Branding and how “Your Business isn’t Your Product- It’s You, kiddo..”. It is needless to point out that she was… is right, he-he.

Therefore I thought to myself, why not go back to the basics?

I have found a very interesting and informative blog post, posted on the Personal Branding Blog by Dan Schawbel, the “Personal Branding Guy” as I’d like to call him :]

Dan talks all about the ways you can blog YourSelf and Your Brand along with Ya. He talks about different ways that technology allows you to simply Amplify Your Brand to a whole new level with simple free and not so free services, websites, videos and audios of all sorts.. Long story short, just follow the link to the post and read!

There is a wealth of information out there and everyone seems to have the “right and accurate” information.Go through old bookmarks you have, visit forums and blogs you like. Then write a marketing schedule that you follow.I have one and it makes life so much easier.

(Found my way here from the cyn-forum.)

Igor, great post. That’s true about personal branding, it’s very important to your business, it’s not really about your product, it’s about you first and then the rest will follow. Btw, the blog looks great…

I totally agree with you Igor, the main reason many people never get started online is because they are suffering from information overload.

Choosing a mentor, and one proven system can be confusing to a beginner, because all of the different products and information out there.

Once you choose your system and mentor, the best thing to do is get started, and not worry about chasing the next big thing.

It all starts with the fundamentals.
