Igor, Good list.

I think that the “How To … ” is one of the most used techniques.

When people search on Google, they usually enter something like “How to ..” Then they will be attracted to any results that have “How To .. in the headline.”

I have put together some examples of “How To..” headlines at the following site.

Hey Tony, Love ya 2 man!
My point was that the word “WARNING!” grabs
attention. If there was a naked woman on the side
of the road holding a stop sign, I would probably
crash into a tree because I won’t be looking at the road.
Catch my drift?

Igor, I love you like a brother, BUT, I’m going to dispute this sentence, “It grabs attention faster than a naked woman holding a “STOP” sign.” I’ve NEVER seen a naked woman holding a Stop sign, or anything else, but I know that if I did the words, “WARNING” are Not what would be going through my mind. How about, “Why is that woman with the sign without clothing? Does she need protection from the sun? Doesn’t she know she can get sunburned?” That’s what would be going through my mind.
If you believe that, I’ve got some swampland to sell you that you will just love.

Wow great resource, Igor… without even thinking of it, some of the headlines of my own products start off in one or more ways that you listed.

I’ll definitely be referring to this post next time I need a headline.

Also, this could be useful for bloggers to make an attention grabbing headline for a featured post every now and then.
