Old GetResponse
I loved the old GetResponse. It was very simple yet got the job done. With old GetResponse I didn’t ever worry about my messages being delivered on time.
GetResponse always gave me a sense of security whenever I was sending a broadcast out. For a big company – establishing this kind of atmosphere is a hard thing to do and I was hoping they will keep GetResponse the way it was when switching to another platform.
Another thing I anticipated was the GetResponse 6 design. I wasn’t crazy about the old one. It gave you a feeling that you are browsing a company website which was created by a-14 year old. Personally, I find web design to be as essential to branding as it gets. So for me – a site with an ugly front page is as bad as an ugly date.
New GetResponse Features
- Design. GetResponse really nailed it with the new design. It is a pleasant thing to navigate around. I am all about productivity and hate useless, unproductive activities: checking emails, sales and subscription updates. Now I am checking my subscription stats more than 5 times a day! It doesn’t do quite well for my productivity but it does give you an indication of just how much I fancy the new GetResponse design.
- Navigation. GetResponse 6 is easier to navigate than the previous version. However, most of the terms I got used to are now different. For example: “broadcast” is a “newsletter” and “subscribers” are now “contacts.” Overall though, it is quite easy to navigate and to get started with. Easier than the old one – that’s for sure!
- Surveys. This is a new feature which is actually quite useful. I always use surveys whenever I am looking for a new niche or whenever I want to get feedback from my list (which is a hard thing to do without one). In the past, I used to work with Survey Monkey and WP Polls Plugin to do it, but now I don’t need to use an external service which is very cool since I can access the stats right then and there.
- Video Marketing. GetResponse 6 has integrated an astonishing new feature – video marketing. You can now record a video using your webcam and send it out as a message to your list. I have seen this stuff get done with EyeJot, but you’d have to pay separate for that. Now, you can give a face and a voice to your messages which can realy boost your conversion.
- Dashboard. The new GetResponse dashboard is also a blast to navigate around. It’s slick, smooth and easy. Everything you’d wish for in a Dashboard. You can also include any kind of stats on it. For example: number of new subscribers for any given campaign at any given time or performance statistics for a particular newsletter.
- Twitter and RSS Integration. This one completely blew my mind. Now you can tie your GetResponse messages with your RSS Feed and Twitter Account. This is an amazing feature for me, because my list just grew by over 6,300 subscribers with no additional effort on my part. How Cool is That?!
Overall Impression
The New GetResponse rocks my world! I completely love it and I’m just amazed at how great it is. I have been using GetResponse for over a year and a half now and this is the first time I can remember being so excited about an email autoresponder.
I believe GetResponse 6 has just set the bar for the rest of email autoresponder services to reach for.
