Learn Affiliate Marketing – It’s Good For You!

Couple of days ago, I have received a question from one of my readers which stated:

“Should I Learn Affiliate Marketing? I am not that ‘net savvy, nor do I have any marketing background. However, with the economy down the toilet, I want… I NEED some extra income. So, should I?”

Here’s the answer I emailed him:

“You most definitely should, Billy (not his real name)! Affiliate marketing is a great way to earn some extra cash or even a substantial full time income. I am familiar with plenty affiliate marketers who enjoy the lifestyle they love by selling other people’s products. It’s a real no brainer, my friend. Do It!”

After the warm, fuzzy feeling of helping a man in need faded away, I have realized that there are probably plenty people out there who wish to find out whether affiliate marketing is worth looking into. Well, just as I have told Billy – It Is Oh So Worth It!

1. You Don’t Need To Create Your Own Product

One of the biggest challenges for the majority of internet marketers and home business owners is the inability to create a product. For some it is hard because they lack the idea, for others it is because they have no resources to back their ideas up and for the rest – the fear of taking action fills that space.

However, affiliate marketing doesn’t require you to have a product. For the most part, all it takes to run a successful affiliate marketing business is a list. By building a list you ensure that your success is long term. It allows you to build a virtual store of customers you can send offers to for the rest of time. That’s how the gurus do it (and you should too).

2. You Don’t Have To Do Customer Support

As soon as someone signs up as a result of your referral – you’re out of the picture. You don’t need to deal with customers and refunds. You don’t need to provide 24/7 support for technical issues as well as step-by-step tutorials on how to use the product.

Most internet marketers are forced to hire a separate employee for customer support and communication. You don’t have to. As soon as your referral is inside the marketing funnel – you’re outta there!

3. Adaptable Hours

As an affiliate marketer – you have the power and the control of choosing when and where to work on your business. If you have a day job, you can do affiliate marketing after work, on weekends and even on vacation.

4. You Get To Choose Which Products To Promote

Another outstanding aspect of affiliate marketing is that you get to choose which products to promote. You don’t need to promote Weight Loss products if you don’t want to. You can promote books instead. And if you’re not into books, you can put your skills to use in the travel niche.

And when you’re done with one niche, you can move on to the next one – exploring new horizons. You can even set up different niche products to market on autopilot using SEO, PPC, Autoresponders, etc. Affiliate marketing is extremely beneficial for people with diverse areas of interest.

If you want to learn affiliate marketing, you have tons of options available. There are practically hundreds of courses (audio, video and PDF) that can teach you the basics of affiliate marketing in couple of hours tops.

However, over the past two years I have found out that a video (or an audio for that matter) can’t substitute a real teacher. You can pick up plenty of material on the “How-To of Affiliate Marketing” but one thing is certain: an experienced person who can look at your business from a distance with a cold hard look, is crucial when you’re stuck, and chances are that you will get stuck as soon as you’ll start (or even sooner).
