Being Rich Is Good

Being RichBeing rich is good. Having millions of dollars is good. Living in a beach front mansion is good. Driving a Lamborghini is good.

Depending on what your current mindset is about money you will either agree with the above statements or really struggle with them.

For some silly reason our society has been conditioned to think that being rich is a bad thing. That being a millionaire somehow makes you a bad person.

It’s not our fault that we think this way because this type of thinking has been passed down through many generations.

If you ever want to become rich yourself, you need to understand that being rich is a good thing. That it’s OK being rich and to have a lot of money. You are allowed to be successful. More importantly-you deserve to be successful.

Many people struggle with being successful because they don’t believe they deserve to be. Let me ask you a question. If I gave you a check for $10 Million dollars right now would you feel like you deserved it?

Probably not, right?

We are conditioned to believe there is a certain limit that we deserve. There is a limit that we will feel comfortable with.

If I gave you 10 bucks it would probably be no big deal to you. But 10 million dollars is a lot of money and those negative, doubting, self sabotaging thoughts start to kick in and you start to say “oh no 10 million dollars is too much for ME.

Well actually it’s not too much for you. In fact it might not be enough.

You can do a lot of great things with money. You can help a lot of people. You can literally change lives. You can put smiles on people’s faces all over the world and you can enjoy all the luxuries this world has to offer.

I have been to some of the greatest places in the world and had some of the greatest experiences in the world and none of it would have been possible if I was broke and wasted all my time complaining about how much my life sucks.

When you have money you can spread good on a much larger scale. You can touch so many more lives, you can reach out to so many more people. You can change the world for the better.

Money is not the be all and end all, no. It won’t make you happy. Which is why it’s important to realize that true happiness comes from within.

Most people put their happiness on hold and say I’ll be happy once I’m a millionaire. Well, happiness comes from the inside. You can’t look for external things to bring you happiness because you will always need more things.

Driving a Porsche might make you really happy but if you’re not happy on the inside once you get out of the car and sit on the couch you are feeling lousy again. So you look for another external source to make you happy.

However, if you are happy within and know that you don’t need any external things to make you happy you will breeze through life.

You won’t need to rely on the Porsche for your happiness it will just add to your already happy state. It will seem like things just keep getting better and better for you.

True wealth begins from within, once you realize that money is a good thing and it’s perfectly OK to want to have lots of it you will unlock your true potential and you will soar to unbelievable heights and feel great while doing it.

I believe most people probably agree here. From my own point of view I think the problem is that people have no vision of how things actually could be better for them. They don’t understand how and why they should get to a better place within themselves and create the happiness they could be feeling and therefore don’t believe having a lot of money will help you in your life once you already have the money.

That very well maybe the problem Eric.

Personally, I had the same issue. As soon as I’d
have money I’d look for ways to spend it or
to give it away to someone who needed it more and
was left broke again.

It was an unconscious way of saying to the universe:
thanks, but no thanks, I don’t deserve it.

I must have missed something! Maybe because I was born in Tasmania, I missed out on the whole “rich is bad” philosophy.

I agree rich can be good, as long as you don’t depend on it for your happiness – and I fully intend to experience this for myself very soon.

Rich is good. I am good. I deserve to be rich. I WILL be rich. Very soon.

I think the point about ‘being rich is bad’ basically comes when you have not “earned” it..Say, you are spending away your dad’s millions in a club or won it in a lottery – these are something people frown upon because you are not putting a value on money.

But people admire Warren Buffet for his inate ability to make money. So, it’s basically how you make money that earns you the respect..

Respect is tied to money and people understand that,
but often we put the value into money ourselves, without
consciously looking at the real figures.

No matter how much money we win or get without
work, it will never be enough, because, as you’ve said Anand,
we don’t value it as much at all.
